Shortening curing time

I really like the February Tip of the Month on filling tires with silicone caulk.

Colin stated that the caulk cures really slowly because air cannot reach the RTV. Actually, RTV cures in the presence of moisture rather than air.  An old trick used in the moldmaking and automotive worlds is to douse the RTV with water to speed up curing.
