2004 Corvette Z06
Revell-Monogram No. 2827
Model Type: Injection-molded plastic
Molded Colors: White, clear, clear red
Scale: 1/25
MSRP: $14.95
Pros: Good detail, chrome, tires
Cons: Parts location description
This Commemorative Edition kit has 111 parts. It has good detail, and I particularly liked the tires and chrome.

I pretty much stuck to the instruction sequence for this box-stock build. It worked well, except that in some areas there needed to be more description on parts locations; I had to play with the wheels to get them in proper position, for instance.

I also had to modify the front valance panel, because the body did not sit properly. I had to do some tweaking to the dashboard so it would fit properly too. But overall the parts fit was good, and I didn't have to do a lot of parts cleanup.

I finished my model with Tamiya White Fine Surface Primer, then painted the body Tamiya TS-19 Metallic Blue with a Tamiya Clear top coat. I used Testor's Model Master and Metalizer paints on the other parts.

I like the overall appearance of the completed model, and the level of detail is good. The scale thickness of the parts is good, compared to other models I've built.

If I built another model I would modify the interior pan and chassis so the car sits a little lower. I'd also flock the interior and do a little more detailing.

I spent roughly 50 hours building this kit, which is average for me. I'd recommend it to experienced modelers.
