styrene

Pros: Robust assembly, clever engineering including operating roof, comprehensive decal sheet
Cons: Ride height, headlight appearance, dashboard gaps

Revell USA has brought over the Ferrari Superamerica from its European subsidiary. In addition to repackaging the kit for US consumption, it's now molded in white.

With careful assembly, the roof works just like the 1:1 car, rotating a full 180 degrees from open to closed.

The kit builds in fairly traditional fashion, and has a nicely detailed V-12 engine. The design of the exhaust and exhaust shields is quite convincing and also fits together with ease. The hood is attached permanently after the hinge retainer is glued in place.

The interior has nice detail; the dashboard is molded in halves that don't fit together particularly well when finished, but the two-piece design aids in the final assembly of the interior. The wheels have inner and outer halves that trap the brake discs in between. Tires have good tread design, but no
sidewall engraving.

The finished appearance is good; most details are well-represented. The body is relatively clean, exhibiting a few minor sink marks to be block-sanded or filled.

Overall, the model was fun to build, looks good finished, and is highly recommended.
