Instant tarp

A Tip from the T&T Workshop: Those of us who wear glasses constantly battle to keep the lenses clean. The best cleaner I've found is Pearle Vision Center's "Pre-Moistened Lens Cloths" in individual foil packages. They're thin, alcohol-impregnated paper wipes that have no pattern or texture. (Stay with me here; we're getting to the good part.)

After cleaning my glasses one day, I left the wipe on the workbench and found that after the alcohol evaporated, the tissue was stiff and maintained the crumpled shape it was in when I threw it on the bench. Instant tarp!

Instead of messy clear coats or white glue mixes, you can make a tarp by cleaning your glasses, draping the moist cloth over the object to be covered, letting the alcohol evaporate until the paper is stiff, and paint or color the dry cloth.
