Sanding hard-to-reach places

Tip: When I sand hard-to-reach places, I always use a 3-M Sanding Pen, available for a couple of dollars in the automotive section of my local Wal-Mart.

This pen is comprised of hundreds of firm fiberglass strands that can be extended from the tip of the pen. It's great for sanding all types of troublesome areas.

The fibers are extended just a little for hard/coarse sanding, or extended farther for finer or finish sanding. The small tip allows you to reach many places sandpaper can't touch. When the fibers are used up, there's a refill in the extender handle.

This tip was passed along to me by friend and fellow modeler Gene Pierce. Give it a try, and I'm sure you'll add at least one of these little gems to your workbench arsenal.
