Using model railroad items for an auto scene

RELATED TOPICS: DIORAMA
Q: Can I use model railroad items for an auto scene (the G or O scales)?

- Sgt. Van Horn

Ken: Model railroad items will definitely work in an automotive setting; but again, be aware of the sizes involved.

O-scale is ¼ inch = 1 foot, so it's actually half the size of 1/24 scale. When you're looking at G scale railroad detail parts, be careful. In model railroad Language, "G" can refer to several scales that are close to each other, including 1/20.3 scale, 1/22 scale, and 1/24. They're pretty close as far as things like tools, etc, but you'll really see a difference if you try to use 1:20.3 scale figures beside a 1/24 scale figure.
