Making cracked asphalt (1)

Prepare a mixture of white glue and silicon-carbide powder (readily available on line) and spread it out on Glad Wrap© (or similar plastic wrap) to a size slightly larger than you need. Let it dry thoroughly, and cut the Glad Wrap© base to the desired size.

Put the sheet in your freezer until the surface is brittle. You can then snap it, and because of the backing, the pieces won't fall off and the cracks will align perfectly - like on real asphalt when the "asphalt" is glued to a flat surface.

Let it warm to room temperature, and glue the pieces in place with white glue.
