Making cracked asphalt (2)

Cut a piece of paper to size and glue silicone carbide to the paper with white glue. While the glue is still wet, secure the paper to the base with more white glue. At this point, with everything wet, you can gently create tears in the paper and pull the section apart, simulating shrinkage cracks in asphalt.

Ken: Narayan's work in replicating asphalt and concrete pavement must been seen to be truly appreciated, but if we follow his techniques we can almost do it as well as he does. (Keyword: "almost"). Thanks, Narayan!
