Testor's Model Master Fabric Paint

RELATED TOPICS: PAINT | TESTOR
Q: I just purchased a can of Testor’s Model Master Custom Lacquer System Fabric Paint. How does this work? Is it supposed to have a “fabric” look when it dries? It doesn’t say much about it on the paint can.

Ken: Dennis, Testor’s “Model Master” series of hobby paints offers a cool assortment of what they call “Automotive Lacquer Special Effects Coatings.” Several colors of Sand Texture Fabric Paints are included in that line.

These colors are applied like any other spray-can paint, and they produce fine textures that simulate the appearance of fabric.

There are actually quite a few texture spray paints on the market that will produce the same effect, but Model Master offers quite a nice range of realistic automotive interior colors.

Spray on the fabric paint as you would any other spray-can color: in thin coats over a good primer.

Model Master also offers two “Vinyl Effects” texture paints. These are two-part systems, consisting of a base coat and a textured top coat, that come in Black Vinyl and White Vinyl. You can see them at www.testors.com.
