Using Pledge with Future Shine as a gloss coat

Ken: We know several modelers who have used Future quite extensively, so we went right to them for the answers.  Here’s what we found:

Future works well as a clear topcoat or as a sealer coat over bare plastic or certain Metalizer colors. It’s water based, so it can be thinned with water, if required.

For the most part, Future is thin enough that it can be sprayed through an airbrush right from the bottle. For best results, air pressure should be 20-25 psi if you’re using unthinned Future.  Drop it down to about 10-12 psi if it’s thinned.

Prepare the work so there’s no possibility you’ll touch it during the drying time, which could be up to 24 hours. Cleanup can be done with water or Windex (or any other waterbased window-cleaning solution).

There you have it, Eric. Good luck with your first Future project. Let us know how it turns out.
