Gluing unlike materials together

RELATED TOPICS: SUPER GLUE | VINYL
Q: How do you permanently glue unlike materials together, like vinyl window shades to styrene model car seats?

Henry Weigle’s modeling buddies

Ken: (Okay, I made that up – but after reading Henry’s great tip, I wanted to address the serious issue of bonding different materials to each other).

One of the coolest all-purpose adhesives is a product called Aleene’s Tacky Glue, which to me looks almost like silicone caulk in a jar. It’s available at most craft stores, and will bond just about any two surfaces.

It’s also water-soluble and dries clear, so it can also be used to glue window glass into place without crazing. If it gets on the glass during installation, wipe it off with a damp cloth.
