Tip of the Month: Easy tubbed wheel wells

RELATED TOPICS: WHEEL | TUBBING
Our friend Dennis Scheidemantle is a frequent contributor to the column, and it’s always good to hear about his latest project – because his building methods invariably make great tips. Such is the case with this technique for making quick-and-easy wheel tubs. Take it away, Dennis:

“While working on my current lowered, frenched, nosed, decked, radiused, shaved, and pancaked 1949 Merc,  I made tubbed wheel wells using a plastic pill container.

“I found a container of the correct size (one where the wheel can fit comfortably inside) and cut it about 7/8 inch from the bottom. I then turned it on end and cut the piece in half to make matching wheel wells. After some minor trimming, the new tubs fit perfectly inside the body.”
