Dull blade = no cuts

Tip: How much of a #11 blade do we actually use in modeling?  

I use and abuse my blades every way possible, and still end up utilizing only about the first ¼ inch or so at the tip of the blade. The rest of the blade ends up as merely a sharp section that will cut you – especially if you slip while holding the handle close to the business end.  

My solution?

File the sharp edge off the back half of the blade, which still leaves the tip and front section of the edge nice and sharp.  

Dull blade = no cuts.
