Keeping the instruction sheet clean

Tip: Here's a tip taken from my use of service manuals on 1:1 cars: 

Make and use a photocopy of the instruction sheet, rather than the original, when building a model.

That way, you can mark it up (by noting paint colors, checking off parts already assembled, identifying where you left off, etc.), and still keep the original instructions pristine and usable – when, for example, the kit contains two engines and you’ll need clean instructions for later kitbashing assembly.
