Hi tommy may,TJ here,On your pictures it shows the tank and frame togther,i hope it isn't glued yet, because what would be the trick getting the fender wheel and disc brake in without braking the pins molded in the frame. With mine I'm stuck at this point.Any suggestions?? [TJ]

No... The tank and frame are not glued together yet... The tank and fenders will match the frame but with some subtle graphics I have planned.

Welcome Gonzo... Help us out with some ideas.
Here's what I did today...
I painted the seat black and plan on attaching some fine thin black leather to it... I bought this thin leather back some years ago and understand it's rather hard to find now.
I cut a peice out to fit on top which was no easy task and plan on gluing it down tightly.

Also...
The chrome plating on this kit ain't the best I've seen and the oil tank had some bad flaws so I opted to paint the oil tank to body color.
Yes, the base color on my build will be black.
And the battery looked a little lame and out of place so I desided to make it look like it was in a box wich I painted black... I just smoothed it out and added some styrene strips so it would appear as a closed box.

Like your's so far Tommy. i have my Crusader started to. Wish i would have thought of your fork idea beforehand. I'll try and post some pics soon.
Mine is painted "Dragon Fire Pearl" from Cobra Colors. Stripped all the chrome and used Alclad. Am in the process of figuring out how I want to paint the wheels using Alclad and paint to be a little different.
Can't wait for the "Torch" and "Bone Daddy" chops!

I must look out for these on sale, reminds me of a couple I used to have in the '70s....
I think someone needs to make one with all rusted chrome and barely road legal, damage to fuel tank, primary cover replaced by chicken wire - that kind of thing! (don't know if I could bring myself to do it though!)

Well, I see you've been up to your old trick again, Tommy, except this time it is here in the motorcycle forum . . . it's a great idea . . . and I have a few of those kits around . . . hum . . . can my brain take two hot topics at the same time?
You are right about these kits though, they are moving fast, and for the most part they are excellent and really inviting . . . I have seen already some great builds going on, and yours in progress is no exception . . .
The kits lend themselves really well to scratch-building add ons . . . this is another great idea on your part. It keeps all the juices flowing.

Hey, Tommy--the other thing that really appeals to me about this is that like you, I am not a bike builder, and have actually never build one so this would be a first, and like Matt says I think these two kits really lend themselves to modifications and scratch-building of all sorts . . . I can see folks really getting excited about his one.

Tommy welcome to the chopper craze glad your enjoying it. A cbp was started already Here is just one pic of my first custom build. Unfortunately my second build was put on hold due to other commitments but it is going to be a total cut up job with a lots of work done to the frame. My third project which is in the mock up stage is going to be a total rad cut up job ( its from a photo I found in one of my bike mags that I want to try and copy) I will post photos of both soon but for now Here is just one shot of my ghost rider bike, click on my link for more shots and welcome aboard.

Fade... Let's see some pictures of your build... We are all looking for idea's here.
mjt... Build one of those "Rat Bikes" for us, Dude.
Virgil... I see you're stalking me as is Matt [:0]... I just needed a release from the "After WW III" thread... Not that I'm burnt out it form it but I just needed a new project and these new RM Choppers are killer... I haven't built a dang car in over a year now... But modeling is always fun.
Build us a Chopper Virgil... You can even put some guns and weathering on if you'd like my friend.
Matt... Start your build, Buddy... Hope you have a better camera now.
Zombie... Your "Ghost Ridder" is outta sight... The chopped down tank and dechroming is a great idea for us... I love it.
